We’ve structured our fees to balance sustainability with flexibility—so you can prioritise family without worrying about your child’s place at Simba childcare.
Our Simba Education centres operate differently. We open early for pre-work drop-off, and by pick-up time, children are already excited to share the day’s adventures.
However, some families naturally wonder: why is a fee charged for days when children aren’t in attendance?
The answer lies in the real, ongoing operational costs that continue whether a child is present or not. From educator wages to fixed overheads and maintaining consistent early childhood education standards, these expenses don’t pause for the calendar.
Some child care services choose to roll these costs into a higher daily rate—meaning you may be paying for holidays regardless. But Simba Education takes a more transparent route, separating public holiday fees rather than increasing costs across the board.
One major exception is our end-of-year closure. All centres—including our Brookvale, Macquarie Park and St Ives locations—close for the Christmas period (from the last Friday of the year to the first Monday after New Year’s), and no fees are charged during this closure.

That’s why Simba Education offers a generous 50% discount on your child care gap fees for up to four weeks of holidays per calendar year.
This makes it easier for families—whether enrolled full-time or not—to enjoy planned time off without financial strain or fear of losing their spot.
For parents juggling the rising cost of child care and education, this policy provides a breath of fresh air and some much-needed flexibility.
Understanding the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) is key to maximising your benefits. This Australian Government initiative supports families by covering a portion of child care costs based on income, activity levels, and number of children.
Once CCS is applied to your fees, what remains is your gap fee—the out-of-pocket cost you pay to your centre.
The good news? Our holiday discount applies directly to that gap fee. So instead of missing out entirely or continuing full payments while away, you’ll only pay half of your usual contribution (for up to 4 weeks).
