At Simba Education, we provide a natural, nurturing environment where children learn through play and discover their world through the Reggio Emilia approach.
Reggio emilia
The Reggio Emilia approach is a child-centered educational philosophy that originated in Reggio Emilia, Italy after World War II. It values creativity, critical thinking and curiosity. Viewing children as capable & active learners. Rather than simply transmitting knowledge, educators act as facilitators in this journey, recognising that learning is a process of discovery, exploration, self-expression and collaboration.
At Simba Education, we believe in creating a rich and immersive learning experience tailored to each child’s needs. Our program ensures children aged 4-5 years develop essential skills, confidence, and independence, preparing them for a successful transition to primary school.
Our emerging curriculum is child-centered and tailored to each child's developmental stage and their unique learning style.

FAQs
How do I access information about my child's day?
Families receive regular photo updates via our family communication app (OWNA). These updates show what activities your child is engaging in as well as their eating, sleeping, and toileting schedule available for your viewing at your leisure from your smartphone, tablet or PC, or directly from educators on pick up. You also have the option of uploading photos and experiences from your weekend to share with your child’s educator team!
What is play based learning?
Play-based learning is a child-centered approach where play is the foundation for developing essential skills and knowledge. It’s more than just having fun—play provides a natural, engaging, and meaningful way for children to build knowledge, practice social skills, and develop creativity. Through guided and independent play, children naturally explore, experiment, and make sense of the world around them.
What is the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)?
The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) is Australia’s national curriculum framework designed to guide early childhood educators in providing quality learning experiences for children from birth to five years old. It focuses on fostering a strong foundation for lifelong learning through play-based, intentional teaching that supports children’s development, wellbeing, and sense of belonging.
What is the National Quality Framework?
The National Quality Framework (NQF) is a national system designed to ensure that early childhood education and care services across Australia meet high standards of quality and safety. Introduced in 2012, the NQF helps families access consistent, high-quality care and supports children’s wellbeing, development, and learning.
Do you offer a school readiness program?
Yes, at Simba Education, we offer a comprehensive school readiness program that aligns with our Reggio Emilia-inspired philosophy. Our program is thoughtfully designed to prepare children for a smooth and confident transition to school while nurturing their curiosity, independence, and love for learning.
What Makes Our School Readiness Program Unique?
Child-Centered Approach: True to the Reggio Emilia philosophy, our program values each child’s interests, strengths, and pace of development. Learning is guided by their natural curiosity and creativity. Focus on Key Skills: We emphasise foundational skills such as early literacy and numeracy, emotional resilience, problem-solving, and collaboration. These skills are developed through meaningful, play-based and project-driven experiences. Inquiry-Based Learning: Children engage in hands-on projects and investigations that encourage critical thinking, creativity, and a sense of wonder. Social and Emotional Growth: Preparing for school isn’t just academic—it’s also about building confidence, communication skills, and the ability to navigate social situations. To learn more about our school readiness program or to see it in action, feel free to contact us or book a tour!
Do your services participate in the Start Strong Preschool Funding
Yes! The Preschool Start Strong funding is a government initiative designed to make early childhood education more affordable and accessible for families. It provides financial support to eligible preschools and early learning services, enabling them to offer reduced fees or enhanced learning opportunities for children in the year before starting school. When you enrol your child in our preschool program, we’ll let you know if your family is eligible and apply the funding to your fees automatically.
Knowledge is viewed as a collaborative, ever evolving process. Where children are encouraged to explore, question and construct their own understanding.

culture
Culture is celebrated as an essential part of learning, honouring children's diverse backgrounds and providing opportunities to explore traditions, languages, and perspectives.
