How Simba Education Nurtures A Child's Unique '100 Languages'

Every child has a story to tell—long before they learn to speak in full sentences. At Simba Education, we believe children are born with not just one, but a hundred ways of expressing themselves. From giggles and gestures to artwork and movement, these early expressions form the foundation of learning, connection, and self-discovery.

This idea is at the heart of the Reggio Emilia approachthat guides our practice. Known as the “100 Languages of Children,” it recognises that each child is a curious, capable, and creative communicator. And in our early learning environments—from long day care centres to our preschool classrooms—we honour every one of those languages.

More Than Words: The Power of Play and Expression

Children expressing themselves through creative play and art in a Reggio Emilia-inspired setting at Simba Education

At Simba Education, our approach to early childhood education is deeply personalised. We know children learn in diverse ways—so our preschool curriculumis flexible, open-ended, and designed to evolve alongside each child's developmental needs and interests.

We incorporate the 100 Languages through rich, hands-on experiences that support educational classes for toddlers, pre-preschoolers, and even infants in our long day care centre environments. These experiences invite children to communicate through:

The Language of Art

Children explore textures, colours, and materials in creative sessions guided by experienced educators or Atelierista. Whether finger-painting emotions or sculpting imaginary creatures, these sessions help children express what they can't yet verbalise.

The Language of Movement and Sound

Through rhythm, music, dance, and group movement, children learn to self-regulate, collaborate, and connect. Music plays a vital role in calming transitions, joyful learning, and sensory exploration—especially for younger children.

The Language of Nature

Aligned with the Reggio Emilia approach, we treat the environment as a teacher. Our outdoor areas are natural, open-ended spaces filled with real materials—where children touch, feel, climb, dig, and discover. It's in these moments that they build vocabulary, confidence, and relationships.

The Language of Culture

Every child brings a rich background of family culture and language. At Simba Education, we celebrate diversity daily—through storytelling, cultural traditions, food experiences, and language lessons. This inclusive approach supports identity formation and ensures every child feels seen and valued.

Educators Who Listen, Support, and Inspire

A child's voice doesn't always sound like words. That's why our childcare educatorsare trained to observe, listen deeply, and respond meaningfully. They're not just supervising—they're co-learners, nurturers, and collaborators in every child's journey.

Our Simba childcareteams include Educational Leaders who champion growth, learning, and innovation—supporting both educators and families. We also value parent involvement, offering collaboration sessions so we can create a shared vision for your child's development.

Families often tell us Simba doesn't just feel like child care—it feels like a second home.

A Community That Grows Together

Whether you're exploring schools for the future or searching for a long day care centre that feels truly nurturing, Simba bridges that gap with heart and purpose. Many families stay with us because we create the solid, confidence-filled foundation needed for that next step.

We blend our education with our Reggio foundation, resulting in a learning experience that is both structured and deeply personalised.

Why Families Choose Simba Education

From educational classes for toddlersto children preparing for school, Simba is a place where voices are heard—even when they're not spoken. We support development across all domains: emotional, physical, social, cognitive, and creative.

Our centres welcome children of all backgrounds, and many families choose us over more structured options like Montessori because of our warm, flexible and family-like environment and intentional teaching practices.

We're more than just a child careprovider—we're a place where imaginations are free to soar, where stories are told in paint, puzzles, puddles, and play.
